Chiropractic is a well-established branch of the health care system. Chiropractors are most well-known for adjusting or “manipulating” the spine and pelvis. This is performed whenever the spine is restricted or misaligned. When the spine does not function properly in an area, then the nervous system at that point comes under stress. The spine is subject to many stressors, both inside and outside the body. Stress, injuries, bad posture, overworking, degenerative processes, muscle spasms . . . everyday life takes its toll.
The goal of chiropractic treatment is to restore and maintain the natural function of the nervous system by removing the stress and irritation of the nerves and keeping the spine in good health. Sometimes this is simple. In other cases, this can be quite difficult due to inflammation, pain, and spasms which fight the natural alignment and motion of the spine. Nerve irritation and muscle spasms, for instance, can become a painful cycle requiring vigorous treatment.
Our hope for you is that restoring and maintaining spinal function will be simple! It is much more enjoyable to have your spine “tuned up” with an adjustment when the situation is not urgent. Whatever your condition, let’s work together to help your body heal itself.
